A Preliminary Study on the Barriers in Listening Section of English Proficiency Test: Students’ Perspectives

 Abstract
 This study intends to find out the problems or barriers faced by Indonesian students in studying for an English proficiency test (EPT), especially Listening section. EPT becomes a standard and compulsory since it is used as one of requirements their graduation at degree level, also job application. Those increase demand test. However, fact shows that takers took times they cannot pass targetted score. led this investigate further about face EPT. The describes kinds Proficiency Test kind University Muhammadiyah Gresik. design descriptive qualitative with 40 subject. data will be collected from questionnaire follow-up interview answer question reveal during test.
